Any registrations for courses, classes, clubs and other activities can be done at the first floor information desk 10am to 4pm

About Marpole Place (MOACS)

Who are we?

Marpole Oakridge Area Council Society or M.O.A.C.S. is a non profit charitable organization that is a community created and driven society whose focus is on the people of the surrounding area.

As a visitor or non-member, you are welcome to attend a group, outing, or club once whilst deciding on your membership. Membership is $12/year; attendance for non-members is subject to availability. Community programs do not require membership.

Alegria ImperialDirector
Alegria Imperial is published in US literary journals as essayist and poet. In Manila, she worked in government, educational and cultural institutions, holding positions in public and media affairs before she joined a newspaper. Before she migrated to Vancouver in Dec 2006, she launched her own book. She signed up as MOACS volunteer in June 2007. She is also an active member of Women Elders in Action (WE*ACT), a 411 Seniors Center and Status of Women supported organization, and works part-time with BC Cancer Research Center.

Blood Pressure Clinic
Every Tuesday from 1pm-3pm come into Marpole Place and get your Blood pressure checked by a retired nurse Pat Smith.

Exercise Class Instructors
Marpole Place is looking for someone who is interested in teach our low impact exercise for our senior members. Please Cantact Caitlin Bryson @ 604-266-5301 if interested

Pedicures
First Monday of every month from 1pm-4pm Please sign up in advance, members only

South Granville Big Book Step Club
Join this group for support in everyday life's battles. The South Granville's Big Book Step group is an Alcoholics Anonymous group that is operated out of Marpole Place.
Come in on a Thursday night at 7pm for more details. MOACS at Marpole has happily hosted this group for many years and looks forward to many more.

Community Garden
We would like to welcome our most recent volunteers who work in our garden; gudrun and Pat do a fantastic job They still welcome people interested in developing a plan for future growth.

Seniors Advisory Meeting 11:00 am
Meetings are held the first Friday of every month. Directly following the Forever Learning Program planning meeting.

UBC Law Clinic Thursdays 6-8pm
Upcoming Thursday nights for 2009-Jan 15, 29/ Feb 12/& March 5, 19 phone UBC law services for appointments. Come in early to enjoy a $5.00 three course meal before your appointment- dinner served at 6:30 pm
